Personal Log, 2 September 2403 (Stardate 81670.8)

Computer, begin recording.

There comes a time in everyones life that you look back at the events that have transpired to make you the person you are today. For me, it's been 30+ years of service to fleet, starting as a Fleet Enlisted right before the start of the Borg War, culminating in my most recent assignment; Master and Commander of the USS Gallant. This ship, an Intrepid Class Starship, is one of the finest ships in the fleet, and I'm an proud to be entrusted with her. This makes the third ship I've commanded, but officially, the first that is a serving line ship. My first command, the USS Nautilus, wasn't even commissioned yet before I was transferred off. My second, the USS Prometheus, was a testbed ship that I was ordered to shakedown in the hopes that the class would become a front-line ship of the fleet. The class has had "mixed" results, to say the least... And now? No Precommisioning Units, no testbeds... The Gallant is a serving line ship, and a proud one to boot.

As of right now, we're still waiting on several key members of our crew, in addition to several supplies the ship seems to be without... Amazingly enough, even these issues haven't dampened my enthusiasm in taking command of the Gallant. Every command has its amount of bureaucratic BS it has to go through, it seems. All part of the game, and it's a game that I've played before.

End recording.
