The next part of the Bajoran Wormhole saga is now underway with the "Game of Fear" mini-series of tinyplots! More information on the plot summary after the jump...
After the events of the previous episode (Game of Fear #2: "Dodge, Dip, Dive, Duck, and Dodge"), our heroes managed to slip aboard the flagship of the Coalition to determine their cause and steal information from their computers. That information was handed over to the Bajoran and Alliance intelligence agencies for analysis. During that analysis, several vessels of the Coalition appeared at Deep Space 9 and opened fire with strange new weaponry that made quantum torpedoes seem tame by comparison.
After a furious exchange of fire that caused damage to several civilian vessels in the main traffic lanes to and from DS9, the combined Starfleet-Bajoran fleet managed to hold off the attacking vessels and destroyed at least one before the rest retreated under the cover of their cloaking devices. Meanwhile, based on their retreating trajectory, the SBR Valley Forge and USS Yorktown covered that course at high warp where they found a former Cardassian starbase, Kessok Nor, left abandoned and stripped of all assets, just outside the recently-redrawn Cardassian border proximate to Chrysalian territory. A team of Bajoran military and Starfleet forces boarded to find that the Coalition had been using the base as a waypoint and holding bay for their small craft. As they continued to investigate, Coalition forces appeared and began attacking the base... as if they knew that their use had been discovered.
With only seconds to spare until the decrepit base's salvaged armor failed, the allied teams beamed off Kessok Nor just before the Coalition ships managed to destroy it. Now armed with more vital information, Valley Forge and Yorktown began their long voyage back to Bajoran space to report on their findings. Hopefully, they will find the answer to this problem soon, before the unthinkable happens right outside Bajor's front door...
