Economics can be boiled down as a science that answers the following three questions:

* - How do we produce?
* - Who do we produce it for?
In certain systems, different types of economic policies are determined by different people. The most familiar economic system for the US is called capitalism, where the individual determines the answers to the above three questions. Russia practiced Socialism, where society determines the answers. In this day and age, however, what the Galaxy Alliance is going to be employing is known as welfare capitalism: government assists individuals in determining the answers.
Let me make one thing clear: What I'm proposing is a new system of commerce and trade, not an economic system. It's important to get the nomenclature and terminology down because I'll be using them throughout this overview of the new system. However, for the sake of tradition, we are calling this system, Economy v3.0.
