Captain's log, stardate 76738.68.
Effective this stardate, I hereby assume command of USS Jean-Luc Picard NX-87200 as requested and required by Vice Admiral Lathrop-Xanathos, Chief of Starfleet Operations. Though this is my first time aboard a Picard-class explorer, I have found the ship to be suitable to our current mission of serving as Starfleet One, primary diplomatic transport and liaison vessel for Chancellor Trent L'vralus. Pending a review of major systems by our chief engineer, the Picard will be leaving dock and heading for Spacedock, where I hope the vessel will meet with the Chancellor's approval while construction of the next vessel marked for service to the leader of the Galaxy Alliance, the USS Kyuushu, continues.
Though I utilized the USS Aquitaine for transportation to and from USS Defiant, the Picard is not large enough to accomodate a Dreamweaver-class yacht. I have made arrangements with Captain Starr to return the yacht to her berth aboard the USS Black Price which is also docked at Spacedock. I wish to express my thanks to Vice Admiral Lathrop and the commanding officer of the USS Black Prince for the use of the USS Aquitaine over the past week.
For now, I am eager to get to know my latest command a letter better. If she holds up to her namesake, then I'm sure she will bring with her many interesting assignments.
Signed,
Aron E. Amadeus

Commanding Officer, USS Jean-Luc Picard NX-87200
