Network Troubles (updated 1/2/2010 5:09pm PST)

The router that connects the game to the internet is down, which is preventing login to the game. Due to the time of year, people are on vacation and will not be able to get back to the router until Saturday (Jan 2) -- so the game will be down until that time.

Update from Cochrane: Until late Saturday. Won't be back until after midnight, most likely. Check back Sunday morning.

Downtime (updated)

We seem to be experiencing down time. I haven't been able to establish why the game is unreachable, but we'll be trying to bring it back ASAP. I know we had network issues yesterday, so that is my prime suspicion. Stay tuned.

Update: We're back!

Election for Chancellor of the Galaxy Alliance

Elections are being held for the next Chancellor of the Galaxy Alliance. Any citizen of the Galaxy Alliance over the age of majority is eligible to declare candidacy, but must file with the Galaxy Alliance Electoral Commission [OOC: @send to *gar] by December 1, 2396 [OOC: this Tuesday, June 30, 2009].

A debate for the candidates will be held in the former Alliance High Council Chambers on Earth, which anyone may attend. [OOC: This will be on Friday, July 3.] Questions for candidates may be submitted to the Commission [OOC: Again, @send *gar. State whether the question comes from your character or an NPC, and where the questioner is from.]

Votes will begin being collected on December 20th [OOC: You may begin voting at any point following the debate.], and the votes will be tallied and the winner announced on January 1, 2397.

Bajoran Gratitude Festival this Friday!

You heard it here first! The Bajoran Gratitude Festival will be held starting at 8am PDT Friday, May 22. The location will be announced in-game, but it will definitely be held in the Bajoran sector. So logout on DS9 Thursday night and you can hop onto the Shuttle Brooks to head down to the planet!

A Wiki is coming WikiWiki

Randal has been working really hard on code, but he's also been pulling double-duty as our web guy. A wiki is really necessary for putting our game's information here on the website, so we're not only going to produce one for players, but it'll be tied to your website registration, so register now in order to gain access to the wiki later on. Once we have the information logged in the database, it'll be easy to simply turn on wiki access for your account.

What about my alt? you might ask me. Register a separate account for your alt, using a different email address, in order to maintain the first rule of 'news alts' in-game. If you have any questions, please post them here on the website by clicking Add New Comment.

Forums go bye-bye!

We've disabled the forums here on the website. With the game online and as we're using the discussion mailing lists in-game, forums seemed redundant.

Welcome our newest Administrators!

Please give a warm welcome to new wizard, Daystrom (Codewizard), and new royal, Nix (Independents)!

WNO making a comeback?

With the large number of players returning, it seems like WNOHGB is coming back. Yes, you heard right. We're hosting a discussion on the game. If you've forgotten your player name and password, kindly see one of the wizards on the game, or send to *Requests with your information. Welcome back! RP is already happening!

Server is online!

Just for giggles and nostalgia, I've put the ol' core back online. It's running at game.wnohgb.org 1701, so blow the dust off of that MU* client of yours and see if you remember your password. As with an unattended pool, no admins are manning the lifeguard tower, so play at your own risk. You can PM me in the forums if you need a password change, but you need to prove ownership by remembering the email address you had back then.

We're Back!

After GoDaddy tried to shut us down, we moved to a new (temporary) server! We're back online and so are the forums, so feel free to use them to get back in touch with your favorite WNOHGBers.
